Roblox account safety: stop hackers and get back in
Most hacked Roblox accounts start with a fake link or a shared password. A few minutes of setup makes yours much harder to steal.

Set this up today
- Use a long password that you don't use anywhere else.
- Turn on two-step verification in Settings, under Security.
- Add and verify your email address.
- Save your backup codes somewhere safe.
- Sign out of devices you no longer use.
Think you've been hacked?
- Try to log in and change your password.
- If you can't, use the forgot password option.
- If that fails, contact Roblox Support with as much proof as you can, such as your email or purchase receipts.
- Once you're back in, check your settings, email and connected devices.
- Scan your computer for malware.
How accounts get stolen
- Fake login pages sent through chats and videos.
- Scam downloads that promise cheats or Robux.
- Reused passwords leaked from other sites.
- People who ask you to read out a code.
Will you get your items back?
Don't count on it. Roblox may be able to help, but it's not guaranteed, so prevention is the best protection. Report it as soon as you can, because waiting makes things harder.
Keeping children's accounts safe
Set up parental controls, and talk about why codes must never be shared. Tell children to come to you when something strange happens, and let them know they won't be in trouble for asking.
What two-step verification does
With two-step verification on, your password alone isn't enough to log in. Roblox also asks for a code, from your email or an authenticator app. So if someone gets your password from a leak or a fake page, they still can't get in. It takes a couple of minutes to set up, and it's the single most useful thing on this page.
Stay away from these
- Browser extensions that promise Robux or trading tools.
- Sites that ask you to paste something into your browser's console. It can hand over your login.
- Accounts for sale. They can be taken back, and buying them breaks the rules.
- Friends asking to borrow your login. Even a good friend's device might not be safe.
Spot a fake login page
Check the address before you type anything. Roblox's site is roblox.com, and small changes like extra words or swapped letters are a warning sign. If you got there from a message or a video description, close it and go to Roblox yourself.
