Xbox has opened five Ubisoft games to every Xbox member for a limited Free Play Days window running from October 1 through October 4.

The lineup is Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Skull and Bones and The Crew Motorfest. Xbox explicitly says a Game Pass Ultimate, Premium or Essential membership is not required for this particular promotion.

Five full games are open for the weekend

Free Play Days normally mixes different access rules from week to week, so the membership detail is the important part here. Xbox says all five Ubisoft games can be tried by Xbox members during the event window without one of the named Game Pass plans.

Players can reach the offer through each game's Xbox page and Microsoft Store listing while signed in. On console, Xbox also points to the subscriptions area of the Store and the Free Play Days collection.

The five games cover very different kinds of weekend. Far Cry 6 is an open-world shooter, Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a large historical action RPG, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora uses Ubisoft's open-world structure in Pandora, Skull and Bones is built around naval combat, and The Crew Motorfest is the racing option.

That breadth is useful, but it also makes the October 4 cutoff worth noticing. Some of these games are enormous, so the promotion is better suited to trying a campaign, testing how a game feels or continuing an existing save than assuming there is time to finish everything on the list.

Free access is temporary, not ownership

Free Play Days does not convert the games into permanent licences. The event removes the normal purchase barrier for the specified window; continued access after the promotion ends requires owning the relevant game or otherwise having access through a service that includes it.

Xbox's Free Play Days format is designed so that progress and achievements can continue if a player later buys a participating game. Store discounts are often attached to the weekend as well, but prices and editions can vary by title and region, so the live store listing is the reliable place to check a local offer.

That distinction is particularly useful with a five-game Ubisoft takeover. A discounted edition may include expansions or extras that were not part of the temporary trial, while the weekend access itself is about letting members play the participating base games during the event.

The promotion runs only through October 4. There is no Game Pass requirement for these five titles during that window, but an Xbox account and the normal platform requirements still apply.

For anyone who has been curious about one of the games, the sensible move is to pick one or two rather than treating the list like a backlog challenge. Four days is enough to see whether Far Cry 6's combat clicks, whether Odyssey's version of Greece is worth settling into, or whether Motorfest's driving feels right.

The key promise is simple: five Ubisoft games, one short access window, and no named Game Pass tier required. After October 4, the usual ownership or subscription rules return.
