GTA 6
GTA 6 price and editions: Standard vs Ultimate
There are two editions of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6): Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Unless you want the extra in-game items, Standard is the one to buy.

Price by edition
| Edition | US | UK | Format |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $79.99 | £69.99 | Digital or boxed |
| Ultimate | $99.99 | £89.99 | Digital only, as reported |
Prices vary by country and store. Check your own store before buying.
What does Ultimate add?
Rockstar describes it as a collection of exclusive items across Jason and Lucia's story. Reports list extra clothing, vehicles, weapons, and access to special in-game vendors and locations.
The Vintage Vice City Pack
This is the pre-order bonus. Reported contents include a '55 Vapid Stanier car and a weapon pattern, though listings differ on the full list. Reports say all digital buyers get it if they buy before 20 November, while boxed pre-orders get it only while stocks last.
Does a pre-order include GTA+?
A free month of GTA+ has been reported for digital pre-orders, but reports differ on whether Xbox players get it. Check the wording on your store page.
Which should you buy?
- Buy Standard if you just want to play. The story and the map are the same game.
- Buy Ultimate if you want the extra items and will definitely play enough to use them.
- Don't confuse it with the Vice City Collection. That's a collector's box in Rockstar's shop, listed as merchandise.
Can you upgrade later?
We haven't seen Rockstar confirm how upgrades will work, so don't count on it. If you're undecided, check your console store's listing, which is the most reliable place for the terms where you live. If you've pre-ordered digitally, your store's refund rules still apply until the game launches, so you may be able to cancel and buy again.
Is it worth paying $20 more?
Only if you know you'll play for a long time and enjoy dressing up your characters and collecting vehicles. Extras like these rarely change the story, and you can't judge them until you've played. If you can't decide, Standard is the safe pick, as you won't miss any of the main game.
Why does it cost $79.99?
It's more than the usual $69.99 for a big game, and it's one of the highest launch prices for a standard edition of a major title. Whether it's fair depends on how much you'll play. Reports suggest a long story, and for many players, GTA 5 lasted years.
