Pokémon Pokopia's Dazzling Decorations DLC arrives December 9 with accessories, not a new town

Part 2 of the Expansion Pass brings accessories for Ditto and its neighbors, more Pokémon and new items, with a free Applin event landing first.

Ditto is getting a wardrobe. The official Pokémon news post sets December 9, 2026 as the date for *Dazzling Decorations*, Part 2 of the *Pokémon Pokopia* Expansion Pass. People who bought the paid pass will be able to dress Ditto and their Pokémon neighbors in accessories, and the post says more Pokémon and new items are coming along for the ride.

Nintendo Life says the pack isn't quite as big as *Bubbly Basin*, the first part of the pass, and it treats the accessories as the main event. Its example is hard to argue with: Dedenne in a pair of shades. It also names Skitty and Doduo among the new arrivals.

What Part 2 doesn't include

If you were hoping for somewhere new to build, this one isn't it. Nintendo Life says it's a little disappointed that the second wave won't bring another new biome, though it adds that more of that is promised for the third wave. Game Informer is blunter, quoting the expansion's description: "No new town will be introduced in Part 2."

That matters mostly for what you're paying attention to. The Pokémon post says Part 1, which released on August 5, 2026, introduced a new underwater town along with more Pokémon to befriend. Part 3 will introduce another new town to explore and rebuild, and it's slated for 2027. So the pass runs town, wardrobe, town, with *Dazzling Decorations* as the dress-up stop in the middle.

How to get in on December 9

There are two things to sort out first. The Pokémon post says the free version 3.0.0 software update has to be applied before you can play the paid DLC.

You also can't jump straight in from a fresh save. The same post says players must first finish important requests in Withered Wasteland, including "Raise the environment level!", "Rebuild the Pokémon Center!" and Drifloon's "Find a doll!" request. If you've left that area half-finished, the next month is a handy window to tidy it up.

The post also lists gifts for anyone who buys the pass: a recipe for Ditto print blocks and wallpaper, plus a code sent by email for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots, available through August 31, 2027.

A free event comes first

The December date isn't the only thing on the calendar. The same post announces Apples to Applin, an event open to all *Pokémon Pokopia* players, pass or no pass. It runs from 5:00 a.m. on November 16, 2026 to 4:59 a.m. on December 1, 2026; the post doesn't name a time zone.

Applin turns up in town with a request for Ditto, because of course it does. Players collect Syrupy Apples and swap them for items including apple-themed furniture, then use those to build habitats meant to attract Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple. You'll need software version 2.0.1 or later to take part, and the post says you can check your version from the Options tab on the HOME menu.

*Pokémon Pokopia* released on March 5, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2.

Riley's take: A paid expansion built around tiny sunglasses is a bold thing to put in the middle of a town-building pass, and I'm a little charmed by the nerve of it. A game about befriending your neighbors was always going to end up here, with someone asking what those neighbors should wear. If you're on the fence, the free apple event is a cheap way to find out how much you care about decorating: it costs nothing, and it's all about furnishing a habitat to please your guests.
