The first seat in the Madden NFL 27 Madden Bowl will be decided during MCS Pro League: Breakouts on October 6, when Chosen and Millz meet in the Breakouts Open Qualifier final.
EA has scheduled the broadcast for 6 p.m. ET, with the qualifier final due at 9 p.m. ET after the night’s Pro League matches. The winner of Chosen versus Millz earns direct qualification to the 14-player Madden Bowl scheduled for February 9–11, 2027.
Breakouts mixes two competitions in one broadcast
The evening starts with the regular-season MCS Pro League. EA lists seven league matches across the 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET blocks, including Astro versus Henry, Drini versus Chosen and Henry versus Drini.
The eight-player Pro League uses a single round-robin regular season. Every match contributes to the standings, but there is also money attached to individual results: each regular-season win is worth $1,000. Those 28 match-win prizes are included within the Pro League’s total $200,000 prize pool.
After the league block, the focus moves to the Breakouts Open Qualifier final between Chosen and Millz.
That match has a different consequence. Each of MCS 27’s three Open Qualifiers awards one direct Madden Bowl place, so the October 6 winner becomes the first player to lock in a seat through this season’s qualification structure. The Breakouts qualifier itself has a $50,000 prize pool.
The Madden Bowl field has four routes in
EA’s season structure gives players four different ways to reach the 14-player Madden Bowl.
Four places go to the Pro League playoff participants. Three come from winning the Breakouts, Most Feared and Zero Chill Open Qualifiers. Six more are awarded through the final MCS Points leaderboard to players who have not already qualified, and the Last Chance Qualifier supplies the final seat.
That makes the Breakouts final important without making it the whole season. Chosen or Millz will secure the first direct Open Qualifier place, while the Pro League competitors still have their own route through the December playoffs.
The Madden Bowl carries a $400,000 prize pool, while EA lists $750,000 in total MCS 27 prizing across the Pro League, three Open Qualifiers and the championship.
Viewers can follow the main and bonus streams
EA says the featured matches will be shown on its Madden channels on Twitch, YouTube and TikTok. Secondary games are scheduled for a YouTube bonus stream.
The October 6 broadcast also includes Twitch viewing rewards. EA lists packs at several watch-time milestones and an 87 OVR Tre Hawkins III MUT player item pack at 90 minutes, with an EA Account needing to be linked to Twitch for eligible drops.
Results still have to be earned on the night. The confirmed story heading into Breakouts is the structure: seven Pro League games, then Chosen versus Millz for the first Madden Bowl seat and the first direct qualification result of the MCS 27 season.
EA’s August season announcement also confirms that every Open Qualifier final is played in person at Full Sail University after online ladder and elimination stages narrow the field to two. Breakouts is therefore the first point where that open path turns into a confirmed championship berth, rather than simply more MCS Points or another bracket placement.
