Lux joins 2XKO on September 8 as Patch 1.3.1 reshapes the game's final 2026 roadmap

Lux joins 2XKO on September 8 with Patch 1.3.1, giving Riot's tag fighter another League of Legends champion during the final months of active development. The 2XKO site published Lux's gameplay reveal on September 3 and now lists her arrival date directly.

Riot describes Lux as a shoto-inspired fighter with a comparatively simple kit built around her light magic. The champion release is only one part of Patch 1.3.1: the same update also changes cosmetics, earned currency and several progression systems as Riot simplifies the game for longer-term support.

Lux arrives with a broader economy cleanup

Riot says Patch 1.3.1 will introduce a 2XKO Ultimate Bundle priced at $39.99, £33.99 or €39.99. The bundle includes nearly all released skins, skin chromas and taunts through Lux, plus the finishers available when the bundle launches. The company describes it as a way to package most of the game's cosmetic catalogue into one purchase.

At the same time, more items are becoming available for Credits, 2XKO's earned currency. Riot says avatar items, selected base champion chromas, stages and player-profile items will be unlockable with Credits, and the existing 12,000-Credit limit will be removed. That expands the use of play-earned currency as the game moves away from some of its earlier progression systems.

Several systems are being removed in Patch 1.3.1: Battle Passes, KO Points, Champion Tokens, seasons and events. Riot frames those changes as part of reducing the systems it needs to maintain while keeping the core online game supported.

September 8 is not a server shutdown

The patch sits inside a larger roadmap Riot announced in August. Active development of 2XKO is scheduled to end in December 2026, but Riot has said servers will remain online and the game will continue to be playable. That earlier announcement should not be confused with Lux's September launch or treated as an immediate closure.

Patch 1.3.1 is instead one of the final major content and systems updates on the published 2026 roadmap. Riot's August plan also identified Lux and Samira as remaining champion additions, with Lux arriving first on September 8.

For current players, the immediate change is concrete: a new champion, a consolidated cosmetic bundle, more Credit-based unlocks and fewer seasonal progression systems. People returning specifically for Lux do not need to interpret the December development decision as meaning the servers are disappearing in September.

The 2XKO homepage now features Lux prominently and links the September 8 date from its current game-updates feed. Patch notes should remain the best source for final balance values and any release-day adjustments once 1.3.1 is live.

Riot's roadmap also makes clear why this patch looks unusual compared with a normal seasonal update. Adding a champion while simultaneously removing Battle Passes, seasons and token systems reflects a transition from active live-service expansion toward a simpler maintenance model. The fighting game itself remains available on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.

Players holding old currencies or tracking cosmetic purchases should read the patch notes before spending once the update lands. Riot has already outlined the broad changes, but release-day notes are the right place for exact conversion, refund or item-availability details that may not be fully captured in the earlier roadmap post.
