Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone's Season 05 Reloaded update is now live, landing on August 20 at 9am Pacific across supported platforms. The mid-season drop is headlined by Rex Infernus, which Activision describes as the final round-based Zombies map in Black Ops 7's storyline.

It is a broad update rather than a single-map release. Multiplayer gets the pinball-themed Turbo Tilt arena and the Freerun: Descent obstacle course, Zombies receives its finale plus new equipment and enemies, and Warzone rotates in new limited-time features and rewards.

Rex Infernus is the centrepiece

Rex Infernus puts the Zombies crew into a final confrontation with the Warden. Activision says the map introduces Deathspinners, the elite Web Mother enemy and the Titan Trap, alongside a new main quest available from the update's launch.

Widow's Wine returns as a Perk-a-Cola, while the Fully Packed GobbleGum can provide a major weapon upgrade. The TR2 marksman rifle and Olympia shotgun also enter the Mystery Box as ultra-rarity legacy weapons.

Players who finish the main quest can earn the Bloodthorn Wonder Weapon skin, a Calling Card and XP, with an additional Calling Card path tied to collecting the map's Intel. Activision is also offering a separate Calling Card variant for players who complete the quest before Directed Mode arrives.

That makes the update unusually definitive for Black Ops 7 Zombies. Activision is not just calling Rex Infernus the latest round-based map; it is presenting it as the conclusion of this game's Zombies narrative.

Multiplayer is much less solemn. Turbo Tilt shrinks the fight into a Nuketown-inspired pinball machine, complete with oversized bumpers, flippers and a giant pinball that can become part of the hazard. Freerun: Descent is built as a movement course rather than a conventional combat map.

Warzone and the rest of the update

Warzone's mid-season changes include Loaded Resurgence as a weekend limited-time mode and additional drone-related systems. The wider Season 05 Reloaded package also adds weekly challenges, attachments and the Mace melee weapon path.

For players who bounce between modes, the practical advantage is that many of the seasonal events and challenge rewards span Multiplayer, Zombies, Endgame and Warzone rather than forcing progress into one playlist.

The timing is notable too. Season 05 Reloaded arrived one day before the Modern Warfare 4 early-access beta begins. That gives Call of Duty players two very different things to do at once: finish the back half of Black Ops 7's current season or jump into testing the next Modern Warfare multiplayer.

Activision's support page was updated on August 20 with the live Season 05 Reloaded details, matching the August 13 announcement and launch time. There is no need to treat the content as a future promise anymore: Rex Infernus, Turbo Tilt and the mid-season systems are the current Black Ops 7 and Warzone state.

What happens after this season is a separate question. For Zombies specifically, though, Activision has already given this update a clear job. Rex Infernus is the final round-based chapter for Black Ops 7, so anyone following that story now has the map the season had been building toward.
