Call of Duty: Warzone Season 06 is turning Haven's Hollow into Haunted Hollow, loading the map with a Ghost Train, trick-or-treat pickups and a low-gravity Mansion while setting up Giant Infected and a DOOM-themed Event Pass for the season.
Raven Software's September 16 patch notes put the seasonal map overhaul at the centre of the Warzone update. The broader Season 06 announcement says the season begins September 17 at 9AM PT across supported platforms, but not every piece of the Halloween content arrives at the same moment. In particular, the current patch notes list Giant Infected for Week 2 and describe the DOOM Event Pass as an in-season event.
Haunted Hollow changes the map, not just the lighting
Haunted Hollow is a horror-themed version of Haven's Hollow with several new interactions rather than a simple visual reskin. A Ghost Train circles the map and can be phased into reality by using a train signal. While it is tangible, players can reach supply boxes, a Buy Station and a Mystery Box before the train fades again.
The map also adds trick-or-treat pumpkins that can hand out rewards or trigger a trick. Temporary powerups include Double Points, Full Armor, Full Ammo, Loot Master, Zarkour and Undead Sight. At the Mansion, a low-gravity zone lets players jump farther and higher without taking fall damage. Those are meaningful route and loot changes, so returning players will have more to learn than a darker colour palette.
Giant Infected is the larger mode change. Raven says the 64-player limited-time mode starts with eight randomly selected Infected. Survivors collect DNA and work toward a DNA Bomb, while eliminated Survivors return as Infected. The infected side gets unlimited sprint, stronger melee movement tools and upgrades as the match develops. The updated patch notes place the mode in Week 2, which is worth noting because the earlier Season 06 overview described it more broadly as launch content.
DOOM rewards are coming in-season
The DOOM Event Pass is also marked as in-season rather than a guaranteed day-one activity. Activision says its rewards include a Doom Slayer Operator, a Doom Guy skin and the Roc 20mm Special Weapon, alongside other DOOM-inspired items. The larger season announcement describes free and premium reward tracks, so players should check the in-game event timing before assuming every crossover reward is immediately available.
Away from the headline Halloween additions, Season 06 makes a few practical Warzone changes. New AFK alerts now tell inactive players when the game has detected inactivity, and teammates can also receive an alert when someone in the squad is flagged. Raven says the detection logic has been improved to make removals clearer and to better target botting behaviour that can slip past inactivity checks.
The season also refreshes win-streak camo rewards and makes Season 06 the final chance to play Black Ops Royale. Ranked Resurgence is running as a shorter season with higher deployment fees in Diamond and above, while several previously restricted loadout items are being tested in the ranked sandbox.
For most players, the immediate reason to drop back in is Haunted Hollow itself. The map is getting new traversal, loot and event mechanics, while Giant Infected and the DOOM pass give the season follow-up beats instead of trying to land every Halloween idea on the first day.
