Xbox Game Pass has laid out its late-August 2026 wave, and two of the most useful dates to circle are August 25 and August 27. Blood Dungeon arrives on August 25, followed by Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on August 27, with both launching into Game Pass on day one for the tiers Microsoft lists.

Blood Dungeon is coming to cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy follows two days later on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC, again for Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Microsoft’s separate Next Week on Xbox roundup repeats those dates and platform details, which helps pin down the practical part: these are not vague “later this month” additions.

The rest of the late-August wave

The wave is broader than the two headline games. Vapor World: Over the Mind entered Game Preview on August 19 for Ultimate and PC Game Pass, while Starsand Island arrived on August 20 for Premium as well as Ultimate and PC. Aerial_Knight’s DropShot is due August 25, Young Suns is scheduled for August 31, and Microsoft has Shelldiver listed for September 1.

That mix matters because the current Game Pass lineup is increasingly split by tier. A game being announced for Game Pass no longer automatically means every subscriber gets the same access on the same day. Microsoft’s August post specifies the eligible tiers next to each title, so checking the individual listing is more useful than relying on the Game Pass logo alone.

Blood Dungeon is the scrappier of the two coming highlights. Microsoft describes it as a 2D platforming survival game from Messhof, the studio behind Nidhogg, built around parkouring through dungeons, kiting monsters and carrying earned bones back to a shop for persistent upgrades.

Resonance is the larger narrative release. It follows Sophia 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem and sends her toward the Minotaur’s Island, combining combat, puzzles and myth-driven exploration. Xbox also marks it as Xbox Play Anywhere, so supported digital purchases can span Xbox console and PC with the platform’s usual entitlement benefits.

What leaves at the end of the month

The other half of a Game Pass update is the exit list. Microsoft says Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition are scheduled to leave on August 31. NBA 2K26 is listed separately for September 6.

For subscribers, that creates a fairly simple choice. The new arrivals give late August a strong run of day-one games, but the leaving list includes much longer experiences that are difficult to finish at the last minute. If one of those outgoing games is already in progress, its deadline is probably more urgent than immediately starting everything new.

Microsoft says it will continue updating the “coming soon” list as release dates turn into live availability. For now, August 25 and August 27 are the next two big Game Pass dates, with Blood Dungeon and Resonance carrying most of the attention.
