Dungeons II

Minecraft Dungeons II co-op: couch, online, mixed and matchmaking

Minecraft Dungeons II is built for playing together, from beginning to end. Here are all the ways to team up, and the one thing console players need to know.

Four blocky heroes fighting back to back against a horde of hooded raiders in a torch-lit cavern

How many players?

Up to four players in a party. You can also play the whole game solo.

Every way to play together

ModeWhat it means
Couch co-opTwo or more players on the same console or PC, sharing the screen.
Online co-opPlay with friends over the internet, with cross-play between platforms.
Mixed co-opTwo or more players on one console or PC, joined by more players online.
MatchmakingFind other heroes looking for a party and drop into their session.
Party codesShare a code to bring a specific friend into your game.

Which platforms can play together?

Minecraft Dungeons II is on Windows, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and online play uses cross-play between them.

Online play on a console needs that platform's own online subscription, which is sold separately.

A free cape for joining a friend

Co-op can also earn you the free Hero Cape: Mojang says you don't need to own either game, because joining a friend's co-op session while signed in with your Microsoft account counts. Claim it before 31 December 2026.
