Free cape
How to get the Hero Cape in Minecraft Dungeons II and Minecraft
The Hero Cape is a free reward for players of the first Minecraft Dungeons. You can wear it in Dungeons II and in Minecraft itself, but only if you claim it before the end of 2026.
How to get it
- Play the first Minecraft Dungeons with your Microsoft account. If you've played it before, even years ago, you already qualify.
- Log in to Minecraft Dungeons II with that same Microsoft account before 31 December 2026.
- The cape unlocks in Dungeons II and in Minecraft: Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, as long as you use the same account there too.
Common questions
- I played on Game Pass or Steam. That counts, if it was the same Microsoft account.
- I don't own either game. Mojang says you don't need to: joining a friend's co-op session while signed in with your Microsoft account counts.
- It isn't showing up. Check you're signed in to the same Microsoft account in every game. Mojang notes processing can take time.
Other capes
The Soul Cape comes with the Deluxe Edition, and the Twisted Cape was a pre-order bonus that also appears in Java and Bedrock on the same account. Mojang lists every current reward in its Capes & Promos article.
Want a cape on a free skin right now? Every skin in the Skin Maker can wear one: pick Cape under Extras.
