What time does it unlock?
We haven't found an unlock time from Rockstar yet. Sites giving an exact hour are guessing unless they link to an official post, so we'll add it here once Rockstar states one.
What is the game about?
Rockstar names two leads, Jason and Lucia. The game is set in the state of Leonida, home to Vice City. Rockstar hasn't published a map size, so any figure you see is a fan estimate.
Could it still be delayed?
Nothing official suggests that. Rockstar's site still lists 19 November and its 3 November pre-load post repeats the date.
Why did it take so long?
GTA 5 came out in 2013, so this is the longest gap between main games in the series. GTA 6 was first dated for 2025 before Rockstar moved it to 2026, and that's why so many people are still nervous about the date. This time, the signs all point the same way: pre-orders are open, a launch trailer is out, and Rockstar has set a pre-load date. Those are the things publishers do when a game is finished or very close to it.
Is it the same date everywhere?
Rockstar says the game launches globally on 19 November. Pre-load times differ by console, and we'd expect unlock times to differ too, so people in some time zones may start before others. We'll post the exact time here if Rockstar confirms one.
Which console should you play on?
If you already own a PS5 or an Xbox Series console, play on that. Rockstar's page says the game "plays best on" PlayStation 5, which is a marketing line and tells you little about performance. There's no reason to buy a new console until proper performance tests appear after launch. If you're on PS4 or Xbox One, you'll need to upgrade, because GTA 6 isn't coming to those.
