World of Warcraft: Midnight Season 2 is live, bringing the expansion’s next endgame cycle online with the Venomous Abyss raid, a fresh Mythic+ rotation, a new PvP season and expanded Delves and Prey systems.

Blizzard’s published schedule opens the core Season 2 activities during the week of August 18 in North America and August 19 on its Europe-facing schedule. The biggest new destination is the Venomous Abyss, an eight-boss raid inside the Vaults of Atal’Utek on the Coiled Isle. Normal, Heroic, Mythic and Raid Finder Wing 1 are available in the opening week.

The raid and Mythic+ reset the endgame

The Venomous Abyss is built around Ula’tek and the corrupted ecosystem beneath the Coiled Isle. Blizzard lists eight encounters, ending with Ula’tek herself, and is staggering Raid Finder access across several weekly resets. Story Mode and the second Raid Finder wing arrive at the next stage of the schedule, with later wings following after that.

Season 2 also switches on the new Mythic+ season. The dungeon pool combines current Midnight spaces with returning dungeons from older expansions. Blizzard’s listed rotation includes Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Den of Nalorakk, The Blinding Vale and Voidscar Arena, alongside Kings’ Rest from Battle for Azeroth, Temple of Sethraliss from Battle for Azeroth and Ruby Life Pools from Dragonflight.

That is the practical reset for players who spend their week pushing keys. Routes, pulls and priority targets change with the pool, while the new seasonal reward structure gives groups a reason to relearn old spaces instead of carrying the Season 1 playbook forward unchanged.

Mythic 0 also moves to a daily reset during the Season 2 opening period according to Blizzard’s schedule. The Great Vault begins supplying Season 2 gear, while the new PvP season, Bountiful Delves and higher-difficulty Prey content all come online around the same reset.

Season 2 is bigger than one raid

The wider Curse of Ula’tek update prepared much of this content before the season itself opened. The Coiled Isle, Altar of Fangs, new Delves and new lair encounters arrived as part of patch 12.1, with Season 2 acting as the point where the competitive and progression systems catch up.

That staging matters. Players who only log in for raid night now have a new raid, but people who prefer smaller groups or solo progression also have fresh Delve rewards, Prey difficulty and Great Vault paths. Season 2 is less a single content drop than the moment Blizzard turns on the full reward structure around the patch.

The next confirmed step is the second portion of the Venomous Abyss schedule. Blizzard lists Story Mode and Raid Finder Wing 2 for the following weekly reset, then additional Raid Finder wings in the weeks after.

For anyone returning after Season 1, the short version is straightforward: patch 12.1 built the new playground, and Season 2 has now switched on the serious progression inside it. The first week is live with Venomous Abyss, Mythic+, PvP and the new seasonal reward tracks all moving at once.
