Invincible VS adds Angstrom Levy on October 13 with a portal-heavy control style

Invincible VS is adding Angstrom Levy on October 13, turning one of the series' portal-powered villains into the game's third Season 2 DLC fighter and 21st playable character.

Quarter Up describes Angstrom as a zoning-focused fighter built around setups, space control and traps. That immediately gives him a different job from a character whose plan is simply to get close and keep swinging.

Portals can attack, defend and reposition

Angstrom's portals sit at the centre of his moveset. The developer says they can be used offensively, defensively and for mobility, letting players change where pressure is coming from or escape a bad position.

Placed carefully, those portals can also become traps. In a 3v3 tag fighter, that matters because the opponent already has to track assists, teammate swaps and incoming attacks. Adding a second layer of spatial threats can make the safe part of the screen change quickly.

Angstrom can also summon and command orbs. Quarter Up says his portals and orbs have unique interactions, creating more ways to apply pressure and build setups. The studio's framing is that he rewards experimentation and forward planning rather than a single obvious sequence.

Those are developer descriptions, not a verdict on how strong he will be after release. Matchups, damage values and tournament viability will only become clearer once players have the finished character in the wider roster.

The character choice also fits Angstrom's established role in Invincible without requiring a lore dump. His defining ability is dimensional travel, so using portals as a control mechanic gives the fighting-game version a direct connection to what makes him dangerous in the source material.

Evo France gets the first playable preview

Players attending Evo France in October will be able to try Angstrom before his October 13 release, according to Xbox Wire.

That preview should give the competitive scene its first public look at how his portal and orb systems work in real matches. It should not be treated as proof of final balance, though; pre-release event builds can still differ from the version that reaches everyone.

Angstrom joins Invincible VS as part of Season 2 and becomes the third DLC fighter in that season. Xbox's announcement lists the game as available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Xbox Cloud, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.

Invincible VS itself uses a 3v3 tag format, so Angstrom's ability to manipulate space has implications beyond his solo toolkit. A portal placed for one character could become more awkward to read once assists and tags are layered over the same moment.

That is the interesting part of the reveal. Angstrom is not just another recognisable character arriving on a date. Quarter Up is using his powers to build a control-oriented fighter whose threat can come from positioning as much as direct offense.

The release lands October 13. Until then, Evo France is the first announced public chance to test whether the portal-heavy design feels as disruptive in a match as it sounds on paper.
