Xbox's release calendar for September 21 to 25 is unusually busy, with Control Resonant, Dune: Awakening and EA Sports FC 27 among the higher-profile games landing across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Game Pass during the week.
Xbox Wire's weekly schedule is still subject to release-date changes, but the list gives players a useful snapshot of where the crowded middle and end of September is heading. Control Resonant arrives September 24, while Dune: Awakening is listed for September 22 and EA Sports FC 27 for September 25.
Control Resonant is the week's headline release
Remedy's Control Resonant is set for September 24 on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere support. The sequel shifts the focus to Dylan Faden, who emerges into a distorted Manhattan during a new paranatural crisis.
Xbox's June hands-on described Resonant as a more kinetic action game than the original Control, with a greater emphasis on close-range combat and shapeshifting weapons. The September release listing does not add a new feature reveal, but it confirms the game as one of the week's major launches and keeps the September 24 date in place.
Dune: Awakening follows a different route. Xbox Wire lists it for September 22 with Game Pass support on Xbox Series X|S. Funcom's survival game can be played solo, with friends on a shared server or in a larger public-server setting, making it one of the bigger service-style releases in the week's schedule.
The back half of the week gets crowded
EA Sports FC 27 lands September 25 and supports Smart Delivery, Xbox Play Anywhere and the current-generation Xbox version highlighted in the listing. Its 10-hour EA Play trial is already live, so some Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can start sampling the game before the standard launch date.
The weekly roundup also includes a long tail of smaller releases across horror, puzzle, farming and arcade genres. Games such as I Hear Them, BIRDCAGE and Ancient Farm sit alongside the larger names, which is exactly why the weekly Xbox list is useful: it catches projects that can disappear beneath the major marketing cycles.
Players should still check the individual store page before buying or preloading anything. Xbox Wire explicitly notes that dates can change, and platform support varies between entries. Game Pass inclusion is also title-specific rather than a feature of the whole week.
For most people, September 24 is the date to circle because Control Resonant is the clearest single-player tentpole in the lineup. But the broader week has more variety than that headline suggests, especially for subscribers who can jump into Dune: Awakening or the FC 27 trial without making a separate full-price purchase first.
The schedule also shows how subscription value can change from one title to another: Dune is listed as a Game Pass release, FC 27 has a time-limited EA Play trial for eligible members, and Control Resonant is presented as a conventional purchase with Play Anywhere support.
