Bigby Wolf has a long memory, and it turns out his next game will too. Telltale has confirmed that the major choices players make in The Wolf Among Us Remastered will carry over into The Wolf Among Us 2, and it did it with very little fanfare: a quiet update to the remaster's store listings, spotted and reported by Shacknews on October 29.
What the store page now says
The official Steam page for The Wolf Among Us Remastered lists the release date as October 29, 2026, with Telltale as developer and Telltale and PM Studios as publishers. Its feature list now includes a line headed "Your Choices Carry Forward into The Wolf Among Us 2."
According to that listing, players who sign in to their Telltale Account while playing the remaster can carry their defining choices into the next season of Bigby's story. The same page has good news for anyone who doesn't fancy replaying five episodes first: people who jump straight into The Wolf Among Us 2 can establish their past choices at the start of the game, with no previous play-through required. The store copy sums it up as "However you lived it, The Wolf Among Us 2 will remember."
How the account link works
Shacknews reports that the remaster prompts players to create or log into a Telltale Account the first time they launch it. That account keeps track of a player's key choices over the course of the remaster's story, and when The Wolf Among Us 2 arrives, players can log into the same account to bring those choices with them, according to the outlet.
Neither the store page nor Shacknews spells out exactly which decisions count as "major" or "key," so for now the precise list of what carries over is still Telltale's secret.
Where the sequel stands
The sequel has had a long road. A second season of The Wolf Among Us was first announced back in 2017, and Shacknews notes that the team has worked on it for years and at one point had to restart from scratch, switching to Unreal Engine 5.
There is still no exact release date. Shacknews reports that Telltale fully expects to have the game ready in 2027, and that it is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What else the remaster adds
The remaster itself is more than a save-file bridge. The Steam listing describes the complete five-episode story with improved lighting, updated animation and refined environments, plus an all-new Noir Mode that switches the whole game to a black-and-white presentation inspired by classic noir films. Players can toggle it on or off at any time. Telltale's page also promises developer commentary, concept art, interviews, restored content and other archival material about the making of the game.
For anyone who missed the original, The Wolf Among Us first came out in 2013 and is based on the Fables comic series. It casts players as Bigby Wolf, the sheriff of Fabletown, a hidden community of fairy-tale characters living in New York. It is a choice-driven detective story, which is exactly why a carry-over system matters: in a Telltale game, who you trusted and who you crossed is half the point.
What it means for players
If you are starting the remaster now and plan to play the sequel, the practical step is simple: sign in to a Telltale Account when the game asks, so your choices are recorded. If you would rather skip the remaster entirely, the Steam listing says you won't be locked out of a personalised story, because the sequel will let you set your past choices when you begin.
Riley's take: Carrying choices between seasons is Telltale's oldest trick, and honestly one of its best. What I like here is the escape hatch. Letting newcomers pick their history at the start of the sequel means nobody has to do homework before 2027, while the people who agonised over every Fabletown interrogation get to see those decisions follow them. That is the right way round. The only thing missing is a clear list of which choices count, and I'd love to see Telltale share it before the sequel lands.
