EA says Javelin Anticheat prevented 26.7 million cheat attempts over the past year as it expanded to 20 titles and prepared native ARM64 support.

EA says its Javelin Anticheat system prevented 26.7 million cheat attempts over the past year, as the company expands the PC security layer across more games and starts pushing its enforcement beyond the game client. EA's September 10 progress update says Javelin now protects 20 titles and has been used across an ecosystem of 57.1 million players.

Those are EA's own measurements, not independently audited industry figures, so the attribution matters. The same update claims more than 99% accuracy for cheat detection, a stability error rate below 1%, and substantially faster startup performance. For players, the practical message is that EA is trying to make a kernel-level anti-cheat layer less visible when it works, while also tightening the hardware and platform requirements around the games that depend on it.

Javelin is getting broader, faster and more hardware-aware

EA says the latest work cut Javelin's game-launch time significantly through startup optimizations, while its anti-tampering component became 20% faster with a 10% smaller footprint. The company also says it has fixed compatibility problems involving AMD and NVIDIA driver features, added clearer progress and error messaging, and made minimum Windows requirements more explicit before a protected game starts.

The scale has grown quickly. In an April 2025 progress report, EA said the system was active in 14 titles and had blocked more than 33 million cheat attempts since its original 2022 launch. The new report uses a different one-year reporting window for its 26.7 million figure, so the numbers should not be added together as if they measure the same period.

EA is also moving further into hardware-backed checks. It says 4.8 million players enabled Secure Boot after games introduced configurable requirements, while Battlefield 6 uses TPM 2.0 alongside Secure Boot. Future work includes native ARM64 support, defenses aimed at direct-memory-access cheating, and detection for malicious or automated input behavior.

The next phase is enforcement outside the game client

One of the more interesting changes is that EA is not framing anti-cheat purely as a scanner that catches bad behavior after a game launches. The company says it has worked with hardware and peripheral vendors to reduce support for cheat-related scripts and configurations, and it specifically points to actions involving the Cronus Zen and Strike Pack ecosystem.

That does not mean cheating is solved, and EA does not claim it is. Anti-cheat is an ongoing contest between platform defenses and people trying to get around them. What has changed is the size of Javelin's role inside EA's PC strategy: more games depend on it, more security requirements can be enforced before play begins, and the company is increasingly treating the surrounding hardware and software environment as part of the problem.

For ordinary players, the best outcome is boring: protected games launch normally, legitimate hardware keeps working, and cheating becomes harder without creating a mess of false positives or crashes. EA's latest figures are meant to show movement in that direction. Native ARM64 support is the clearest announced next step, but EA has not given a release date for it yet.
