Control Resonant PC specs ask for 120GB SSD space and scale from GTX 1070 to RTX 5080

CONTROL Resonant needs 16GB of RAM and 120GB of SSD space across its published PC tiers, with GPU targets ranging from GTX 1070 to RTX 5080 path tracing.

Remedy has published the final PC requirements for CONTROL Resonant, and the hardware spread is wide. The game asks for 16GB of RAM and 120GB of SSD space across the listed tiers, while GPU requirements range from a GTX 1070-class card at the low end to an RTX 5080 for the highest path-tracing target.

CONTROL Resonant launches on September 24. PC Gamer's breakdown reports the final tiered requirements released by Remedy, while the game's Steam page independently lists the September 24 release date, 16GB memory requirement, 120GB storage requirement and SSD requirement for its standard minimum and recommended configurations.

The non-ray-traced tiers start relatively low

At the minimum target, PC Gamer lists 1080p at 30fps using a quality upscaler, low graphics and ray tracing disabled. The CPU floor is an Intel Core i5-8500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, paired with a GeForce GTX 1070, Radeon RX 5600 XT or Intel Arc A580 and 6GB of VRAM.

The recommended non-ray-traced target steps up to 1440p at 60fps with a balanced upscaler and medium graphics. That tier calls for an Intel Core i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X, with a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, Radeon RX 6700 XT or Intel Arc B580 and 8GB of VRAM.

For conventional rendering at the enthusiast level, the target moves to 4K at 60fps using the performance upscaler preset and high graphics. PC Gamer lists an RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6800 XT with 10GB of VRAM for that tier.

The common requirement is storage. All of the final tiers reported by PC Gamer call for 120GB of SSD space and 16GB of system memory. That is the number most likely to catch players who otherwise have enough graphics horsepower: a modern GPU does not help if the install drive is already packed.

Ray tracing changes the GPU equation quickly

The ray-tracing minimum target is 1080p at 30fps with a quality upscaler, low graphics and low ray tracing. It moves the GPU floor to an RTX 2060 Super, Radeon RX 6600 or Intel Arc A580 with 8GB of VRAM, alongside an Intel Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X.

At the recommended ray-tracing target, 1440p at 60fps with medium graphics and medium ray tracing, the requirement rises to an RTX 4070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070 with 10GB of VRAM. The top path-tracing tier is much more demanding: 4K at 60fps, performance upscaling, high graphics and high ray tracing is listed with an RTX 5080 and 12GB of VRAM.

Those are target configurations, not independent benchmark results. We have not tested CONTROL Resonant on these systems, and published requirements cannot guarantee identical performance across every PC. Driver versions, background workloads and individual hardware configurations still matter.

What the chart does show is Remedy trying to cover a long hardware ladder. Owners of older GTX 10-series or comparable cards are not automatically excluded from the non-ray-traced minimum, while the highest lighting settings are clearly aimed at current high-end hardware. Before September 24, the practical check is straightforward: confirm the 120GB SSD space first, then match the GPU tier to the resolution and ray-tracing target you actually plan to use.
