Sony has confirmed four PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September 2026: Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life and Chained Echoes. The lineup becomes available to members on September 1 and remains claimable until October 5, giving subscribers a little over a month to add the games to their libraries.
There is a useful spread here rather than four versions of the same thing. Sniper Elite: Resistance brings stealth and long-range action on PS5 and PS4, MLB The Show 26 covers baseball on PS5, Wobbly Life offers a co-op sandbox on PS5 and PS4, and Chained Echoes adds a 16-bit-styled JRPG on PS4. Sony also notes that Monthly Games can differ by region, so the PlayStation Store remains the final check on release day.
What is in September's lineup
Sniper Elite: Resistance shifts Rebellion's series into another story set in occupied France, running alongside the events of Sniper Elite 5. Sony highlights campaign co-op, Axis Invasion, competitive multiplayer and a Survival mode, making it the most obviously combat-focused game in September's group.
MLB The Show 26 is the lone PS5-only listing in Sony's announcement. It includes Road to the Show and Diamond Dynasty, and PlayStation Plus members are also being offered a limited-time Jump Start Bundle from September 1 to October 6. That extra bundle has its own window, so it is worth treating it separately from the Monthly Game claim period.
Wobbly Life is the lighter multiplayer option, supporting solo play as well as local or online co-op for up to four players. Chained Echoes goes in the other direction: a single-player role-playing game built around turn-based battles, exploration and a fantasy setting where mechs sit alongside swords and magic.
Sony's PlayStation Plus support pages provide the useful subscription context around the announcement: Monthly Games are a membership benefit, alongside features such as cloud storage and online multiplayer. The important bit for members is not to confuse platform labels either — Chained Echoes is listed as PS4 in the official post, while Sniper Elite: Resistance and Wobbly Life cover both PS5 and PS4.
August's games are about to leave
There is also a deadline attached to the outgoing lineup. Sony says members have until August 31 to add Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, Big Walk and Signalis to their libraries. If any of those are still sitting on the mental “later” pile, adding them before the cutoff is the easy move.
Claiming a Monthly Game is different from buying it outright. Access remains tied to an active PlayStation Plus membership, which is worth remembering when deciding whether to keep a subscription running after September. Sony's support documentation also makes clear that benefits such as Monthly Games and online storage end when a membership expires.
For September itself, the headline is simple: four games, four fairly different moods, and one clear date to remember. The new lineup opens September 1, while the August trio needs to be claimed by August 31. No elaborate calendar strategy required; just do the library housekeeping before the month flips.
That mix also makes September unusually easy to sample without committing to one genre for weeks.
