If EA Sports FC 27 on PC is stuttering, dropping into slow-motion gameplay or feeling delayed even in an offline match, treat it as a local performance problem before blaming the network. EA's current PC guidance specifically notes that frame-time spikes and system performance can feel like input delay even when latency is low.

The safest troubleshooting order is simple: check VRAM pressure and the in-game preset first, reduce the heaviest graphics load, close background work, then verify drivers, Windows power settings and memory configuration. Change one thing at a time so you can tell which adjustment actually helped.

Start with the in-game load

Open FC 27's PC graphics settings and look at the VRAM indicator EA added to help show how the selected settings fit the available graphics memory. If the game is close to or beyond the comfortable range for your GPU, lower the graphics preset or the most demanding options before trying system-level changes.

Resolution is another strong lever. Dropping from a higher native resolution to a lower output or using the game's supported scaling options reduces GPU load and can improve frame pacing. Do not chase the highest preset just because average FPS looks acceptable: EA's support guidance calls out stuttering and slow-motion behaviour that can appear when frame times are inconsistent.

After each change, replay the same type of offline match. If the problem improves offline but returns only online, then network troubleshooting becomes more relevant. If it remains in offline play, keep the focus on the PC.

Clear background bottlenecks, then check the system

Close unnecessary launchers, browser tabs, recording tools and other heavy background applications before starting FC 27. Then install the current stable driver for your GPU from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel. If a problem began immediately after a driver update, use the vendor's normal supported rollback path rather than registry edits or unofficial driver packages.

On a laptop, make sure Windows and the manufacturer's power controls are not forcing a battery-saving mode while you play. Plugging into AC power and selecting the normal high-performance gaming profile can prevent the CPU or GPU from being unnecessarily constrained.

EA also points to hardware and memory configuration as possible causes. If your PC has multiple RAM modules, verify that they are installed in the motherboard's recommended slots and running in the intended dual-channel configuration. Use your motherboard documentation instead of copying a generic slot layout.

Keep the fixes reversible. Avoid downloading “FPS boosters,” editing unknown configuration files or disabling security features. FC 27 already provides the useful first checks inside the game: VRAM awareness, presets and resolution. Work outward from there, retest after every step, and only move to network diagnostics when offline performance is stable.

If the issue survives those steps, capture a simple baseline before changing anything else: note the resolution, preset, approximate frame rate, whether the problem happens offline, and which driver version is installed. That gives you something concrete to compare after each adjustment and makes an EA Help or hardware-support ticket more useful.

Do not stack five “fixes” at once. Performance troubleshooting works best when every change has a clear expected result and an easy rollback. If lowering the preset makes no difference, restore it before moving on. If closing background apps fixes the issue, re-open them individually later to identify the actual conflict.
