Minecraft Dungeons 2 mods: how modding works, and Dungeons mods for Java
Two different things get called Minecraft Dungeons mods: mods for the Dungeons games themselves, and Java Minecraft mods inspired by them. Here's the honest picture of both.
Can you mod Minecraft Dungeons II?
Not officially. Mojang hasn't released modding tools or support for Minecraft Dungeons II. Players on PC have started making community mods, loaders and mod managers anyway, and most of them are shared in the Minecraft Dungeons II section of Nexus Mods.
- PC only. Community mods work by adding files to the PC game. There's no modding on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch.
- Unofficial and early. Many are alphas, and some say they're untested on the Game Pass or Microsoft Store version.
- Back up your saves first, and read each mod's page and comments before you install it.
- Online play: turn mods off before joining other people, so you don't break their game or yours.
And the first Minecraft Dungeons?
The first game never had official mod support either, but its PC version had a long-running community modding scene, also on Nexus Mods.
Dungeons mods for Java Minecraft
If what you really want is Dungeons-style weapons, armour and dungeons inside regular Minecraft, these Java mods are the place to start. They're fan-made and aren't from Mojang.
