How to spot a bad source

  • It says "confirmed" but doesn't link to Rockstar.
  • It gives an exact unlock hour with no official post.
  • It uses leaked mission names as fact.
  • It offers an early download, a PC key or free in-game money.

Why some dates disagree

Rockstar first said pre-load would start on 12 November, then moved it to the 10th. Plenty of older pages haven't been updated, and that's why you'll still see both.

What about the 2022 leak?

Early footage leaked in 2022, and some of it has been used as evidence for features ever since. It was very early work. GTA Base reports, for example, that the ability to go prone seen in those clips was later removed. So old footage can't tell you what's in the finished game.

Can you trust feature lists?

A good list tells you where each claim came from. We rely on Rockstar first, then on outlets that have seen the game, such as IGN. We treat store listings with caution, because even TechRadar couldn't say who wrote the details in one pre-order listing.

How we keep this page honest

  • We update claims as they're confirmed or disproved.
  • We don't publish leaked story details.
  • We'd rather say "we don't know" than guess.

When will we know for sure?

Most questions will be answered on 19 November, when players get their hands on it. Reviews may arrive before then, if Rockstar sends out early copies. Questions about PC and online may take much longer, as they depend on what Rockstar chooses to announce.
