Fortnite's One Piece mini-season, Treasure Hunters, starts November 1

Fortnite's Treasure Hunters mini-season brings One Piece to a new pirate island from November 1 to December 5. Ace and Nico Robin headline the Battle Pass, and Luffy, Nami and Usopp go to the Item Shop.

Fortnite's next stop is a pirate island, and One Piece is steering the ship. Epic Games has detailed Treasure Hunters, a short mini-season that starts on November 1 and, according to 4Gamer and Shacknews, runs until December 5 (US time, per 4Gamer).

A quick note on sourcing: Epic's own Fortnite news pages refuse automated readers, so we couldn't check the original announcement directly. Everything below is attributed to the outlets that reported it. 4Gamer says Epic made the announcement on October 30, and Shacknews says Epic sent it the details in a press release.

When it starts and how long it lasts

GamesRadar+ reports that the November 1 date was confirmed through official posts and in-game announcements, and that the current Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass is available through October 31. The season was teased at a live event on October 24, which GamesRadar+ describes as barely more than a short teaser video.

This is a short one. Shacknews calls it a mini-season, and 4Gamer describes it as Chapter 7's first mini-season. GamesRadar+ compares it to last year's Simpsons mini-season, a bridge to Chapter 8 Season 1, which it expects at the end of November or in early December. That expected date is GamesRadar+'s estimate, not an Epic announcement.

Shacknews also points to a Fortnite post teasing the season with the line "Chests to crack. Crews to beat. Sprites to catch. Treasure to claim. 11.1". GamesRadar+ gives the tagline as "The greatest adventure of all time".

Who's in it

The One Piece cast is split between the Battle Pass and the Item Shop:

  • Battle Pass: Ace and Nico Robin headline it, according to both 4Gamer and Shacknews.
  • Item Shop: Luffy, Nami and Usopp, who 4Gamer says arrive in the shop when the season starts.

One Piece isn't the only crossover on board. Both outlets list rappers A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert, plus the virtual artists Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto. Shacknews says each week a new Captain takes over a point of interest on the map, including Cap'n Hatsune Miku, a new Outfit based on the character. 4Gamer likewise says collaboration content will be added week by week, including Miku in a pirate costume, Teto and Lil Uzi Vert.

GamesRadar+ also passes on a longer character list rounded up by the Fortnite leaker HYPEX, including Zoro, Sanji and Buggy. Treat that list as unconfirmed until those characters actually appear.

The new map and powers

According to 4Gamer, the update adds Crossbones Island, a new 80-player map. Players can pick up abilities based on the anime there: Luffy's Gum-Gum Fruit, Ace's Flame-Flame Fruit, Zoro's three-sword style and Usopp's slingshot. Shacknews says the season brings map changes alongside the new Battle Pass.

On price, GamesRadar+ says the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass will cost 800 V-Bucks, the same as the smallest V-Bucks bundle at $8.99 / £6.99. It adds that the Battle Pass is also included in the Fortnite Crew subscription.

Fortnite is free to play, and 4Gamer lists it on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS and Android.

What isn't confirmed yet

  • Start time: none of the reports we read gives the hour the servers come back on November 1. GamesRadar+ says to expect at least a few hours of downtime for the switchover.
  • Later shop drops: beyond Luffy, Nami and Usopp, no further One Piece Item Shop schedule appears in these reports.
  • Chapter 8: the timing above is an estimate.

Beau's take: A five-week season makes the Battle Pass maths simple: you've got less time than usual, so don't leave it to the last weekend. The part I'm keenest to see is how Devil Fruit-style abilities sit on an 80-player island. Movement and ranged powers on a smaller map can swing fights fast, so it's worth learning what each one does in the first week before the Captains start shaking up the points of interest.
