Gears of War: E-Day is the headline release in Xbox's October 5–9 calendar, with the worldwide launch set for October 6 after Premium Edition early access began on October 1.

Xbox lists E-Day with Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere support. The Coalition separately confirms that the game launches on Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, with cloud access available through Game Pass Ultimate.

October 6 is the busiest day of the week

E-Day is not alone on October 6. Xbox's weekly release list also includes Star Wars: Galactic Racer, a run-based racing game set after the fall of the Empire, and Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III], which bundles the major HD collections, Kingdom Hearts III and Re Mind.

The Kingdom Hearts bundle is marked as Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning a qualifying digital purchase can be used across supported Xbox console and Windows PC environments under the same account. That is separate from Game Pass: Xbox's calendar specifically marks E-Day as the day-one Game Pass headline.

For Gears players, the timing is already split into two phases. Premium Edition owners and Game Pass subscribers with the Premium Upgrade were able to begin early access on October 1 at 8 a.m. Pacific, while the worldwide release follows October 6 at the same time.

That makes the weekly roundup less of a first reveal for E-Day and more of the point where the game's normal launch audience joins in.

The week keeps moving after the Gears launch

Xbox's October 5–9 list continues beyond the Tuesday rush with a mixture of smaller releases and larger licensed games.

The calendar includes projects such as Echo Weaver and Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival later in the week, alongside a broader slate that stretches across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox on PC. Platform support differs by game, so the individual store page still matters more than the roundup if a release is the reason you are planning a purchase.

Xbox also places its usual warning on the feature: release dates are subject to change. That is especially relevant for a weekly calendar covering games from multiple publishers, because a last-minute delay or regional storefront difference can change what is actually available on a given day.

E-Day remains the obvious anchor. It is Microsoft's major first-party release for the week, it is included with Game Pass on day one for eligible plans, and its October 6 worldwide launch follows several weeks of pre-install, PC-spec and early-access messaging.

The more useful takeaway from the roundup is that October 6 is crowded rather than singular. Gears lands beside Star Wars racing and a large Kingdom Hearts bundle, then the rest of the week fills out with smaller releases and horror.

For Xbox players deciding what to download first, E-Day has the clearest service advantage because of its Game Pass placement. For everyone else, the October 5–9 calendar is a reminder to check platform and release-date details game by game before assuming every title follows the same launch rules.
